Thanks Heather for telling us about the balloon ride. Driving on the 5 fwy in Irvine, we have seen a mysterious giant orange balloon attached to the ground. It wasn't until this week that my friend Heather let me know that they are promoting the new "great park" at the El Toro base by giving
FREE rides until 2008. It is open 10-3 Thursday-Sunday. When we went on Friday at 11:00 there was no wait at all. Go check it out.

San Juan Summer Nights
Free concerts... we love them. Wednesday night was the last one of the summer. Next summer we will be going to more of them. The boys love the music and I was surprised they weren't dancing. It was just as much fun watching some of the people dance though.

We got a good thing going here. There are 4 of us moms with 2 year olds within 4 months of each other. We all have kids that are older and away at school so we've come up with a plan. Every Wednesday we swap playdates. This week was my day. Here are the cute boys...

This past Monday was Gavin's first day of preschool for the new year. It is the same school as last year, but new teacher and classroom. There are twice as many kids in the class this year so he was a little overwhelmed the first day. He had a real hard time with me leaving... so weird considering his independent attitude at home.

You'd think he'd be happy to go. It looks like I've been driving him crazy all summer, huh?

So I did it... uploaded my first video.
This is Miles in the car watching his favorite video, "Cars". He knows the chorus real well but gets a little lost in the middle. But his facial expressions will keep you entertained. He is such a crack up. He is expanding his vocabulary everyday... sometimes surprising us with his grown up words.

Non-Labor Day Weekend
We left the laboring to Kim. And we headed up to Ventura to the beach house. The plan was to leave Friday night to go up there but Nathan went out and got pneumonia. He was so very ill on Thursday, I was seriously scared. We would have taken him to the ER but my dad diagnosed him over the phone and hooked us up with some antibiotics right away. Nothing more than the ER could do. Every hour he progressively got better and then both boys got fevers and we quickly put them on antibiotics. So I was the full time nurse of these 3 boys of mine for the next 48 hours. Everyone is doing so much better and we ended up having a wonderful 2 days.

Congrats Kimberly & Jason
Welcome to the world baby Colin! Ethan is going to have so much fun being a big brother... someone to play trucks and cars with (he'll just have to wait patiently for another year). We are so happy to have another cousin.

Colin Joseph born August 30th 7:20 am. 8 lbs. 13 oz
to Kimberly and Jason (Nathan's older brother)
