Wow, what a week we had with all the fires. Everyone that I've talked to this week knew someone or had directly been affected by the fires. My cousin, Sarah and her husband Chris, live in Rancho Bernardo and was evacuated this past week. Her community was the hardest hit of them all, with the most homes lost in a single area. Luckily her home was in the middle of the neighborhood and not on the edge where most of the homes burned. My friend Yasha and his family live in Modjeska Canyon and their home just barely survived. The firemen had to light a back fire up the hill behind his home before the fire crept over from the other side.
Just a week before these fires we got to meet some of the firemen that helped save so many homes. They did simulations and let the kids put out pretend fires.
We love the firemen!

Here goes some random photos for your viewing pleasure...

Gavin's school photos

At the punkin patch

With cousin Luke at Chuck E. Cheese. I thought this photo captured their excitement very well. We had Luke and Will on Saturday while their parents moved into a new home.

Pirate Booties!
I got the idea and pattern from THIS friend's blog. Thanks Kelly!

Favorite Foto Friday

This worn out soldier partied it up at the Primary Halloween party.
Gavin and Miles had matching outfits that they will wear Halloween night too.
Yesterday we bought a bike with training wheels for Gav at the thrift store. That night I went to work, dad took off the training wheels and this is what he did this morning!

Watch out Jack Johnson...

Ok, Gavin is smiling in this photo. But when we were driving the other day, Jack Johnson was pumping, we were stopped at a light, I look in the rear view mirror and Gav has a very serious, eye brows down, lips slightly puckered, face on, strumming his water bottle. He loves the guitar! Gotta get this kid in lessons soon.

Captain Underpants

Miles has entered his Toilet Training course. He currently has a "C" average. But it is only his second day. I was very excited on day one when he would pee in the toilet every time I put him on. But the 4 accidents in between dampened my enthusiasm. But today, only 2 accidents. He is such a different student than Gav. I can tell Miles will graduate a lot sooner.

Nathan's Salsa is HOT!

Ok... Nathan is going to kill me for this post.
We've been taking a salsa/cha cha class at Saddleback for the last 4 weeks with some friends. Us girls got together and conspired against our husbands (they won't admit that they ended up loving it... they threaten to enroll us in a football course... let's see if that happens). Nathan was a star pupil, of course. The mysterious male Latin dance pro that showed up one night tapped him on the shoulders not once but twice and told him what great moves he had.
